CHARLESTON, Mo. — Dr. Donald A. Raithel, 84, died Aug. 11, 2020.
Born April 3, 1936, in St. Louis, son of the late Forest and Frances Virginia Raithel, he served in the United States Marine Corps Reserves from 1954 to 1958. He worked in the aerospace industry at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft before graduating from Logan College of Chiropractic in 1962. He practiced Chiropractic in Berkeley and St. Charles, Missouri, until 1972. He moved to Charleston in 1973 to open his office where he remained in practice for 40 years.
On Feb. 19, 1955, in Jennings, Missouri, he married Nancy Louise Parker, who preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 2002. In 2008, he married Connie Pendergrass, and she survives of the home.
Survivors include: five children, David (Liz) Raithel, Dianne (Bob) Hall, Steven (Joy) Raithel, Richard (Rhonda) Raithel and Jeffrey (Deb) Raithel; two stepsons, Gene Pendergrass and Chad Pendergrass; and 10 grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
His brothers, Robert "Bob" Raithel and GySgt Richard "Dick" Raithel, preceded him in death.
At his request, his body was donated to Logan College of Chiropractic.
