CHICAGO, Ill. — Larry Johnson, 66, died June 25, 2020, at his home in Chicago.
Born Jan. 25, 1954, in Sikeston, Missouri, son of the late Malissa Richards and Henry Johnson, he attended Lincoln Elementary for two years in Jefferson City, Missouri. He attended True Christian Pentecostal Witness Church in Sikeston and moved to Chicago after college and became a member of Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. He later returned to Sikeston and attended Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as the pianist. In 2019, he returned to Chicago.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Patricia Ann Wallace; one sister, Freddie Ann Wilson Sanders; and one aunt, Dora Johnson.
Survivors include: five aunts, Vernita Harris, Emma Leachman, Bernice Cox of Springfield, Illinois, Beatrice Rives and Olivia Henderson of Los Angeles; and nine grandchildren.
Services were conducted in Chicago.
