SIKESTON — Be prepared to get your popcorn and your candy — the Sikeston Cinema Grill will be reopening soon.
According to Malco Theatres, the Sikeston Cinema Grill is set to reopen on Sept. 3 since closing in late March due to the coronavirus pandemic. As part of the reopening, there will be several extra safety measures that have been implemented.
Face coverings will be required to enter the building and must be worn inside the lobby, restrooms and common areas. Facial coverings may be removed once inside the auditorium.
All guests are also encouraged to purchase advance tickets via www.malco.com or the Malco app in order to facilitate contactless payment methods.
Pre-purchased tickets will be scanned at the usher stands or at freestanding kiosks.
Theatres will follow social distancing protocols with groups at least six feet apart, with every other row empty. If you arrive with a family you may sit together, but respect others and maintain a healthy social distance.
Concession stand registers will also be reduced and reconfigured to allow for six foot spacing between guests. Plexiglass barriers have also been installed at registers and some menu items may be limited.
Also, to reduce contact points, all popcorn containers and fountain drinks cups will be single service use only with guests purchasing a refillable option to be given a fresh container and/or cup for the refill.
