Willie Evans
CHAFFEE, Mo. — Willie Clifton Evans, 74, died Sept. 13, 2020, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Born March 19, 1946, in Sikeston, Missouri, daughter of the late Horace W. and Hazel M. (Dismuke) Evans, he served in the U.S. Army and two tours of duty in Vietnam.
On Oct. 7, 1967, in Sikeston, he married Bertie Shirkey; she survives.
Other survivors include: one daughter and one son-in-law, Nancy and Sean Barnes of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; two brothers, Freddie Evans of Sikeston and Michael Evans of Plano, Texas; five sisters, Marsha Blackburn and Debbie Barrozo of Sikeston, Elaine Hodgkiss of Irving, Texas, Sue McKown of Montgomery, Alabama, and Karen Kaiser of Clarksville, Tennessee; and four grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Willie C. Evans Jr.
Visitation is from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 10 a.m. Sept. 21 at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee with the Rev. Barry Pfanstiel.
Committal will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield.
