22 competing for Miss Cotton Carnival

SIKESTON — Twenty-two girls will be vying for the title of Miss Cotton Carnival at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Cotton Carnival held at the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Grounds.

Ava Alcorn, 16, of Sikeston, attends Sikeston High School. The daughter of Erin and Ben Alcorn, her school activities include Red Peppers, Key Club, A+ Program and FCA.

Breanna Backfisch, 17, of Blodgett, attends Thomas W. Kelly High School. The daughter of Miranda Glasser and David Backfisch, her school activities include soccer, secretary of FCCLA, FFA officer, class officer, FTA, pep club and yearbook.

Mackenzie Conway, 16, of Sikeston, attends Sikeston High School. The daughter of Julie and Mike Conway, her school activities include tennis, basketball, track, NHS, FFA, Key Club, Red Peppers, Link Crew, SHS Inspired and ASTRA.

Rylee Corlew, 15, of Dexter, attends Dexter High School. The daughter of Ryan and Jessica Lee, her school activities include volleyball, cheerleading, pep club, women’s choir and band.

Sarah Crawford, 15, of Sikeston, attends Sikeston High School. The daughter of Avi’Elle Crawford, her school activities include Red Peppers, chamber orchestra and concert chorale.

Kirsten Fairhurst, 15, of Sikeston, attends Sikeston High School. The daughter of Isabella Fairhurst and Brandon Fairhurst, her school activities include volleyball, basketball, track, Red Peppers, Key Club and A+ Program.

Madison Fetters, 16, of Sikeston, attends Kelly High School. The daughter of Chad and Erica Fetters, she is a member of FFA and FCCLA.

Savannah Finney, 14, of Sikeston, attends Thomas W. Kelly High School. The daughter of Rebecca Dawn Byers, her school activities include drama club, pep club, Beta Club, track and field and choir.

Morgan Fitzgerald, 15, of Sikeston, attends Sikeston High School. The daughter of Cory and Melissa Fitzgerald, her school activities include cheerleading, Red Peppers, track, A+ Program, FBLA, FCA and Key Club.
