Scott City woman dies in Benton crash

BENTON, Mo. — A Scott City, Missouri, was killed in a single-vehicle crash late Wednesday in Scott County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 9:09 p.m. on US 61, four miles south of Benton, as the southbound vehicle driven by Kylie M. Jackson, 23, of Scott City avoided an animal in the road, crossed the center line, traveled off the road and struck a tree.

Jackson was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:21 p.m. by North Scott County Ambulance Paramedic Skylar Travis and transported to Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel.
