Portageville residence destroyed by weekend fire
PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — At 7 p.m. Sunday, the Portageville Fire Department was called to a fire on Highway KK, east of Portageville. Fire personnel in Engine 3 and Rescue 1 arrived to find a brick home with heavy fire come from all sides of the residence. The Marston Fire Department responded to a mutual aid request with two tanker trucks. Firefighters battled the blaze for several hours and were able to protect nearby structures. Personnel remained at the scene until 11:39 putting out hotspots. The homeowners were able to get out of the house and no injuries were reported. The house was declared a total loss.
According to the Portageville Fire Department, the cause of the blaze is unknown at this time.
