SIKESTON – Virginia Lee Holsinger, age 87, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She was born April 12, 1933, in Wyatt, Missouri, daughter of the late Claude and Lucy Kirkpatrick Lochridge. She was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church, Altrusa Club, J.C. Wives, and Lady Elks. SIKESTON – Virginia Lee Holsinger, age 87, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2021, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born April 12, 1933, in Wyatt, Missouri, daughter of the late Claude and Lucy Kirkpatrick Lochridge. She was a member of Murray Lane Baptist Church, Altrusa Club, J.C. Wives, and Lady Elks. She made custom draperies and then worked for J.C. Penney’s before retiring.

On July 8, 1954, she married Harry Holsinger, who preceded her in death Nov. 25, 2017.

She is survived by one son, Keith (Deena) Holsinger of Olympia, Washington; two daughters, Karen Syre and Kathy (Doyne) Elliott all of Sikeston; two sisters, Shirley (Bill) Grissom of East Prairie, Missouri and Mary (George) Lynn of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Virginia was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Lynn Holsinger; one son-in-law, David Syre; one brother, Robert Lochridge; two sisters, Martha Jones and Sheila Hunt; one grandchild; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 5 p.m. until time of services at 6 p.m. at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Rev. Georg Karl, pastor of Tanner Street Church of God, will officiate.

Burial will be at a later date in Forest Hills Cemetery at Morley, Missouri.
