Kendra Gregg has taken over the duties of New Madrid city clerk, replacing longtime city clerk Karen Chapman. Gregg, a 2003 graduate of New Madrid County Central High School, completed her associate degree in business management from Three Rivers College in 2020. She was hired by the city of New Madrid in August and was able to work alongside Chapman for several months prior to Chapman’s retirement in January. As city clerk, Gregg assists the city administrator and mayor. Among her many duties, she is in charge of taking minutes at the city council meetings, city ordinances, code enforcement, election filings and business licenses. Gregg said she is enjoying her new job, adding “there is something new every day.”
