RENTON, Wash. — Johnnie Lee Davis Sr. was born in New Madrid, Missouri, to Sherman and Lula Mae Davis on July 22, 1937, and he died Feb. 3, 2021.
He was preceded in death by both parents; one sister, Norva Lee Cole; nine brothers, Percy Davis, Louis Davis, Monroe Davis, Charles Lee Bobby Joe Davis, Owen Foster Jr., Robert Foster, Ezell Davis, Dwayne Wright, Walter Davis, Marvin Davis and Roger Davis.
He grew up in Sikeston, Missouri, married Belle Meyer; to this union two children were born, Johnnie Lee Davis Jr. and Yvonne Davis.
He was employed by Compress, Cosby Krispies, General Motors, and performed numerous jobs in Michigan and Missouri.
He leaves to cherish his memories: auntie Themla Oliver Wiley (Jacksonville, Florida), Eddie Wiley (Mount Vernon); four brothers, Willie Mac Davis (Rosie) of Columbia, Missouri, Allen Walton, Atwin Davis of Saginaw, Michigan, and Victor Davis of Florida; nine sisters, Jennie Taylor and Althea Davis (Ronnie Ross) of Seattle, Esteleen Harris and Vernice Davis of Saginaw, Michigan, Gloria Brooks of Atlanta, Georgia, Bernetta Woods of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Alaindra Jackson of Saginaw, Lecia Davis of Mount Pleasant, Michigan, Maxine Kelly of Kentwood, Michigan; five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
