Montana man killed in Friday crash

SIKESTON — A Montana man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday in Scott County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 12:08 p.m. on southbound Interstate 55 at the 72-mile marker, as the vehicle driven by Michael C. Pepper, 57, of Helena, Montana, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a concrete wall. Pepper was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:46 p.m. by EMT Mitzie Liman and transported by Scott County Coroner Scott Branam to McMikle Funeral Home.
