ORAN, Mo. — Versie Mae Canady, daughter of the late John and Mirl (Greenhaw) Henson, was born July 27,1925, in Cave Creek, Arkansas, and departed her life on Monday, June 28, 2021, at her residence in Oran at the age of 95 years.
Versie was of the Pentecostal faith, and loved her family, going to yard sales, and looking out her window at the humming birds and flowers.
On Dec. 22, 1959, she was united in marriage to Bunkie Franklin Canady. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1996.
She is survived by six children: Carolyn Schott of Oran, Johnny (Theresa) Canady of Benton, Missouri, Edith (James) Riggins of Oran, Lisa Graviett of Oran, Bobby (Tina) Canady of Oran, Tammy (Tim) Belt of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, one sister: Mildred (Arlie) Chisum of Arkansas; two brothers: Orbie Lee (Susie) Henson of Kansas, Kenneth Henson of Arkansas; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in the death by one sister: Bertha, three brothers: George, Billy Ray, Earl.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 30, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Oran. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Foster officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Hills Memorial Gardens cemetery in Morley, Missouri.
