SIKESTON — Thomas Eugene Ellison, 93, a lifelong resident of Sikeston, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. SIKESTON — Thomas Eugene Ellison, 93, a lifelong resident of Sikeston, passed away Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born May 12, 1928, in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, to the late Reuben McClellan and Martha Caroline (Lindsey) Ellison. He had served in the United States Army as a Sergeant during WWII.

He had been a self-employed small business owner where he worked as a Mechanical Contractor and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sikeston.

On June 22, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas, he married Elise Carpenter, who survives of the home in Sikeston.

He is survived by two daughters, Dianne (Bo) Shantz of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and Martha (Joe) Jahnke of Austin, Texas; one former daughter-in-law, Terry Boyer; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Mark Ellison; four brothers, Joseph Ellison, Luther Ellison, Frank Ellison and Max Ellison; and four sisters Elizabeth Bedingfield, Dora Watkins, Callie West and Reba Ryan.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 1, 2021, from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral at 12:30 p.m. at the Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston. Pastor Mathew Vroman will officiate.

Interment will follow immediately at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri, with full Military Honors.

Pallbearers will be: David Ellison, Thomas Ellison, Ryan Ellison, Bo Shantz, Joe Jahnke and Cole Jahnke.
