Sikeston man killed, Bloomfield woman injured in crash

CIRCLE CITY, Mo. — A Sikeston, Missouri, man was killed and a Bloomfield, Missouri, woman injured in a two-vehicle crash early Thursday in Stoddard County.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol,at 9:20 a.m., one mile south of Circle City, as the motorcycle operated by Jerrod T. Plaskie, 33, of Sikeston was traveling southbound on Highway N, and the vehicle driven by Danny W. Griffin, 65, of Bloomfield was northbound. The crash occurred as Plaskie's vehicle crossed the center of the road and struck Griffin's vehicle. Plaskie was ejected from his vehicle.

Plaskie was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:04 a.m. by Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham and transported to Mathis Funeral Home.

Griffin’s passenger, Gloria A. Griffin, 59, of Bloomfield received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center.
