SIKESTON — Demetrius Flowers, 55, (affectionally called “Meechie” and “D”), died unexpectedly Sunday, Aug. 22, 2021.

He was born Oct. 14, 1965, in Sikeston, Missouri, the son of Rev. Sharl Flowers-Smith and the late Leroy Flowers Sr.

Demetrius was a 1985 graduate of Sikeston High School.

He is survived by his mother, and grandmother, Mable Cook of Sikeston; two brothers, Leroy (Lucretia) Flowers of Atlanta, Georgia, and Donald Flowers of St. Paul Minnesota; three sisters, Sheila (Kenneth) Wilson of Ft. Worth, Texas.; Rhonda Council (Terry Robinson) of Sikeston, Missouri; Sharl (Erica) Flowers of Austin, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Henry Cook and sister, Estelle Cook.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, 2021, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 300 Westgate St., Sikeston.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Sept. 3, 2021, at Jubilee House of Prayer, 416 Greer St., Sikeston.

Burial will follow in Sand Hill Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau will be in charge of arrangements.
