PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. — A Hayti woman had to be subdued and was arrested after failing to comply to officers during a traffic stop.
According to Portageville Police Chief Ronnie Adams, Friday at about 7:55 a.m. officers received a complaint of a reckless driver on Missouri State Highway T.
Officers observed the described vehicle traveling north on Huffman Avenue and clocked the vehicle with moving radar going 62 miles per hour in a 25 mile per hour zone. A traffic stop was conducted on E. Main Street.
During the course of the traffic stop, the driver, Jennifer Drake, 39, became very combative towards officers and refused to exit the vehicle. The driver tried to place the key back into the ignition in an attempt to flee. A taser was used to subdue Drake.
Drake was arrested for speeding, disorderly conduct, no operator’s license and resisting arrest and transported to the Pemiscot County Jail.
A warrant was issued by Portageville Municipal Judge Chris Stinnett and Drake was released after posting $1,000 cash bond and given a court date of Nov. 4 at 5 p.m.
