CAPE GIRARDEAU – A Sikeston man was sentenced to federal prison on methamphetamine charges.

Richard Ring, 46, was sentenced to 51 months in prison Thursday by United States District Judge Matthew T. Schelp.

The Sikeston resident pleaded guilty in July to two counts of distribution of methamphetamine.

During March 2021, on two occasions in Scott County, Ring sold a total of over 17 grams of methamphetamine to an individual cooperating with law enforcement officers.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the New Madrid Police Department and the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. Assistant United States Attorney Paul W. Hahn handled the prosecution for the government.
