MDMC announces construction of new facility

SIKESTON — Missouri Delta Medical Center held on Wednesday a groundbreaking for a state-of-the-art 23,189-square foot, single-story building located on three acres of land adjacent to the existing Bruce Medical Building on Plaza Drive in Sikeston.

“This new building will provide the updated equipment and technology while adding the needed space to keep up with the growing demand for our rehabilitation and occupational medicine services,” said MDMC President Jason Schrumpf. “The medical clinic is part of our facility master plan that addresses the current and future needs of specialty care for the communities we serve.”

Construction will take approximately 17 months with an expected opening in the summer of 2023.

The new outpatient rehabilitation center and medical office clinics represent the solution to the strategic expansion needs of Missouri Delta’s rehabilitation and occupational medicine service lines along with the addition of a podiatry practice, according to Schrumpf.

The outpatient rehab portion of the building will contain services for physical, occupational and speech therapy with designated areas for pediatrics, work rehab, warm water therapy, and other highly specialized services such as lymphedema, women’s health, functional electrical stimulation and vestibular rehab.

The outpatient clinics portion will contain eight large exam rooms, two treatment rooms and areas for occupational health and drug screenings, diagnostic imaging and phlebotomy.
