BLOOMFIELD, Mo. — A man was sentenced on Wednesday to 22 years in prison after being found guilty by a jury on a child molestation charge in Stoddard County.
David Ryan Troyer Jr. of Advance was sentenced to 22 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections by Circuit Court Judge Robert N. Mayer, according to Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney Russ Oliver.
Due to the manner in which Oliver charged Troyer, the defendant is statutorily ineligible for parole, meaning that the defendant will be required to serve every day of the 22-year sentence.
A Stoddard County jury had previously found Troyer guilty of first degree child molestation on Sept. 13. The defendant was convicted of criminal sexual contact with a 2-year-old child.
Due to the sensitive nature of the crime and to protect the identity of victim, Oliver said there will be no further statement will be released by this office.
