CHAFFEE, Mo. — Our world lost a beloved soul, Wilhelmina “Willie” Schetter on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021. Willie was born May, 23, 1930, in St. Joseph, Tennessee. With her family, she moved to and resided in Chaffee since 1937. She married the love of her life, Edward “Eddie” Schetter on July 1, 1950, who departed this life on Jan. 3, 2008.

CHAFFEE, Mo. — Our world lost a beloved soul, Wilhelmina “Willie” Schetter on Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2021. Willie was born May, 23, 1930, in St. Joseph, Tennessee.

With her family, she moved to and resided in Chaffee since 1937. She married the love of her life, Edward “Eddie” Schetter on July 1, 1950, who departed this life on Jan. 3, 2008.

She was a loving, gentle mother to Pat Alsdorf, Gail (Mike) Buzzotta, Mitch (Kathy) Schetter, and Jill (Eric) Glastetter. Nana was a wonderful grandmother to Shaun (Jen) Alsdorf, Jamie (Robin) Alsdorf, Melissa (Billy) Windram, Teresa (Daniel) Buzzotta Garcia, Angela (Greg) Anderson, Lisa (Nels) Thoreson, Ashley (Jim) Grannell, Andi (Tyler) Rowe, Abigail Glastetter, and Cole Glastetter. She was a Great-Nana to Cooper and Lexi Alsdorf, Tyler and Camryn Alsdorf, Liam, Maya, and Ayla Windram, Charlie Buzzotta Cosatt, Penelope and Ruby Garcia, Eva, Jack, and Eddie Anderson, Nico and Forest Thoreson, Adalyn Grannell, and Max and Maggie Rowe. She was the sixth child of 15 children born to Frank and Monica (Reischman) Kluesner. She is survived by her brother, AJ (Betty) Kluesner, and three sisters, Flora Brucker, Clairene Priest, and Diane (Larry) Lovell. She was a devout Catholic of St. Ambrose Parish for 84 years. She was Aunt Willie to over 70 nieces and nephews, which included four Godchildren, Paulette Beussink, Pam Dalton, Dale Kluesner, and Lisa DeJong. Willie was a true friend to many. She was a member of the Daughters of St. Ambrose, St. Ambrose Home and School Association and Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. Willie’s first job was at Saint Francis Medical Center, where she met her lifelong best friend, Edna (Greaser) Smith. She also worked for Bucksteins Pants Factory. She was a self-employed seamstress while raising her family and later was co-owner of Heaven Sent Fabrics. Her creative hands knitted, crocheted and tailored. She did alterations until 2021. She was the head cook for St Ambrose School for 19 years.

In addition to her husband and parents, Willie was preceded in death by her siblings, Rufus, Cletus, Ernest, Joseph, Frances Scheeter, Rudolph, Thomas, Walter, Mathew, and Veronica; and her son-in-law, Joe Alsdorf.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Funeral services will then be conducted on Monday at 11 a.m. at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee with Father Joseph Kelly officiating. The family requests all those attending wear a mask.

Interment will be held at the St. Ambrose Cemetery.
