Frances Ponder

DARDENNE PRAIRIE, Mo. — Frances Ponder, 86, born June 20, 1935, in Waddy, Kentucky, to the late John William and Margaret Ann Cox Smith, passed away on Dec. 25, 2021, at the Barathaven Alzheimer Care Center in Dardenne Prairie.

Survivors include: her husband, Harold Ponder of Dardenne Prairie; one son, Lonnie Ponder of Sikeston, Missouri; one daughter, Linda (Scott) Seal of Wentzville, Missouri; two brothers, James Smith of Simpsonville, Kentucky, Jerry Smith of Taylorville, Kentucky; one sister, Anna Mae Gibson of Havelock, North Carolina; and three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John “Little William” Smith Jr., Carl Smith and Larry Smith.

Friends may call at the First Baptist Church in Lilbourn, Missouri, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Allen Nichols, pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow at the Dogwood Cemetery, Dogwood, Missouri, under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home.
