Due to high demand, Wednesday is last day for MDMC rapid COVID-19 testing site

SIKESTON — Due to high demand, Wednesday will be the last day for the rapid COVID-19 testing site at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Originally scheduled to be held all week, MDMC officials released a statement Wednesday morning saying Wednesday would be the last day.

“Due to larger-than-anticipated tests performed at our drive-thru testing site the last couple days, today, Wednesday, will be our last day to have the site until we get a large shipment delivered to us,” the statement said. “At this time, we do not have an in-hand date. We will announce the next drive-thru test date as soon as we do. Our clinics do have COVID tests available but on limited supply.”

Testing began Wednesday at 8 a.m. and is scheduled to conclude at 4 p.m.
