JoAnn Denton

SIKESTON — JoAnn Denton, age 94, passed away on Jan. 18, 2022, at The Arbors at Westridge Place in Sikeston.

She was born on May 14, 1927, in Senath, Missouri, to the late Jake and Jessie Pullin Thompson.

On Oct. 12, 1944, in Flint, Michigan, she married Bill Denton who preceded her in death on June 18, 1993.

JoAnn was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston for 15 years.

She is survived by two sons, Billy (Barbara) Denton of Hernando, Mississippi, and Kenny (Sheila) Denton of Whitewater, Missouri; two daughters, Vicki Williams of Trinidad, Texas, and Shirley Henderson of Catron, Missouri; one sister, Betty Jean Gibson of Dexter, Missouri; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Pastor David Cullen of Cornerstone Church in Bertrand, Missouri, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Mounds Park Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri.

Pallbearers will be: Bradley Denton, Wes Williams, Tim Henderson, Kyle Denton, Denton Daugherty and Spencer Hampton.
