LUSK CHAPEL, Mo. – Oliver Wendell Kirkpatrick, age 87, of Lusk Chapel passed away peacefully at his home, Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, with his loving family by his side.

Oliver was born in Diehlstadt, Missouri, on April 5, 1934, to Ollie and Olive Duckett Kirkpatrick. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Reed Kirkpatrick.

Oliver leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy Callahan Kirkpatrick. He also leaves behind his brother, Benny (Susan) Kirkpatrick, as well as his children, Wendell (Kristi) Kirkpatrick and Kay (Doug) Glastetter; grandchildren, Matt (Krista) Glastetter, Maggie (Daniel) Schuh, Mark (Keshia) Glastetter and Canon Kirkpatrick; and great-grandchildren, Owen and Ellie Louise Schuh, Ridge and Rush Glastetter and Savannah and Madelyn Glastetter.

Oliver lived in Lusk Chapel most all of his life. He was a lifelong farmer and avid outdoorsman. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and flying small aircraft. Some of Oliver’s many accomplishments throughout his life include serving on the National Guard, where he was a member of a Missouri State Rifle Championship Team, 32nd Decree Mason, President of Levee District 2, and Big Lake Drainage District Board Member.

His wonderful life will live on through his children and grandchildren through his teachings of hunting, fishing, gardening, farming and more.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

McMikle Funeral Home of Charleston is in charge of arrangements.
