BERTRAND, Mo. — Niva Pearl Clark Breeden Spivey, age 90, left her earthly home on Feb. 9, 2022, at the Bertrand Nursing Home in Bertrand.

She was born Oct. 19, 1931, in Sikeston, Missouri, daughter of the late Fred and Sula (Rose) Clark.

On May 29, 1948, she married Robert Breeden who preceded her in death Dec. 19, 1975.

On April 8, 1978, she married Louis Dean Spivey who preceded her in death Sept. 23, 2007.

One son, Robert Allen Breeden; two brothers; and one sister also preceded her in death.

Niva gave her heart and life to the Lord Jesus Christ in March 1951. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sikeston; a member of Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, she belonged to Sikeston OES Chapter 137; and was a charter member of the Sikeston Bootheel Quilters Guild.

She was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and an avid quilter.

She is survived by her three daughters, Jane (Jackie) Calbert, Sandra (Michael) Stanley, and Sharon (Dale) Curtis all of Sikeston; one sister-in-law, Nancy (Breeden) Swinger of Morehouse, Missouri; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

There will be graveside services held on Monday, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. at the Taylor Cemetery near Essex, Missouri, under the direction of Ponder Funeral Home.
