SIKESTON — Edward Lloyd Pruiett, aged 87, of Sikeston, formerly of Forrest City, Arkansas, passed from this life to heaven on Thursday, March 3, 2022. He was born Jan. 5, 1935, in Caruthersville, Missouri, to the late Jethro and Grace Dunavant Pruiett.
He proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He graduated Arkansas State University with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science and Education. He was an educator, Insurance salesman, Real Estate Broker, Real Estate Appraiser and retired from Farm Credit Services of Southeast Missouri. He served faithfully in the Gideons International. He was a member of Miner Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School, served as an usher, was a deacon, and was the past president of the “Young At Heart” Senior Adult Ministry.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 64 years, Martha Cohoon Pruiett of the home; his sons. Edward Lloyd Pruiett Jr. (Lisa) of Wynne, Arkansas; Robert W. Pruiett (Cheryl) of Ozark, Alabama; and Russell W. (Ashley) Pruiett of Martin, Tennessee; his brother, Bobby J. Pruiett (Sherry) of Sherman, Texas; his grandchildren: Edward Lloyd Pruiett III (Kathryn) of Wynne, Arkansas; Lindsey Renee Green (Hunter) of Wynne, Arkansas; Jordan Pruiett of Ozark, Alabama; Jacob Pruiett of Ozark, Alabama, and Emma Pruiett of Martin, Tennessee; his great-grandson, Knox Elliott Pruiett of Wynne, Arkansas and his twin great-granddaughters: Poppy Blake and Lucy Belle Pruiett of Wynne, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Helen Suratt and Margaret Gravette; his grandson, Ben O’Guin; and his great-granddaughter, Stevie Jane Pruiett.
Funeral Services will be Sunday, March 6, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Missouri with visitation beginning at 1 p.m. Pastors Mitch Jackson and Ron Shrum officiating.
Pallbearers will include the deacons of Miner Baptist Church.
