Shame on them

I’m a grandmother of two New Madrid County High School cheerleaders. I didn’t see anything in the newspaper about the New Madrid High School cheerleaders competing in competition a week ago. These girls and their coach work hard to perfect their routine. They are very athletic and they practice all summer in the heat and practice all fall and cheer at all the ball games. I think they should receive recognition for what they do and how good they are, just as the ball players and all the clubs at school do. They represented their school among numerous other cheerleading squads from all over Missouri and they represented it well. If this was in the paper and I didn’t see it I apologize. I know you print only what is reported but if the school didn’t report then shame on them. The girls and their coaches won first place in one competition and second place in another. And I think that is something to be proud of. And I am a proud grandmother.

We apologize but we were unaware of the NMCC cheerleaders taking part in any competition. Neither the school nor anyone from the team informed us.
