Not a reader

After reading the fireworks bill 6253 on the Sikeston city website, I noticed that it showed the names of the city council. Unfortunately it did not show which council member voted for or against the bill. The Sikeston city council should be transparent and let the voters know how they are being represented by who they voted for. This has been going on for years. What are they hiding?

If you read the Standard Democrat, you can find out who voted for and against the fireworks ordinances in the past. We include that with the council story on the votes. As for this bill, it was unanimously approved to put on the ballot.

Investigate blowing of noses

I actually think the health department, and maybe more agencies, need to investigate our restaurants and sit there and watch how people blow their noses and stick the tissue in their plate and glasses when they are done. That is so unsanitary. It should be against the law for someone to blow their noses all the time where people are eating. It is so gross. The last time I went out to eat I seen at least eight people blow their noses and toss the tissue on the plate. And we are eating out of these plates and drinking out of these glasses? Someone please help.

We really, really hope they are washing the dishes after each use.

Too many semis

There are way too many semi trucks out on the highways. I know we have a shortage of food and different things on the shelves, but there are way too many semis. I guarantee that big wreck out on I-57 — that was caused by semis. There needs to be a limit of how many trucks can be on the highways.

We would rather have food on the shelves.
