KILGORE, Texas — A 19-year-old man was killed and another man was injured Wednesday morning in a wrong-way crash on U.S. 259 near Kilgore.
Troopers responded at about 9:30 a.m. to the crash about 1 ½ miles north of Kilgore on U.S. 259, according to Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman Sgt. Jean Dark.
A preliminary investigation shows David L. Fuller IV of Sikeston, Missouri, was driving a car headed north on U.S. 259 when he, for an unknown reason, crossed the center line and went into the southbound lanes, Dark said.
At the same time, 40-year-old William D. Glasco of Kilgore was driving a dump truck south. Glasco and tried to avoid Fuller’s vehicle but was unsuccessful, according to Dark. The two vehicles collided in the southbound lanes.
Fuller was pronounced dead at the scene, Dark said. Glasco was taken to a Longview hospital in stable condition.
