Annual Kids Fishing Derby to be held Saturday at Complex Lake

SIKESTON — The annual Kids Fishing Derby will be held Saturday at the Sikeston Recreation Complex Lake.

The free event will be held from 9-11 a.m. and is open to all kids age 15 and under. Each child must provide his or her own fishing pole and bait.

Small children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and children may be assisted by an adult. However, Children should do their own fishing as much as possible.

Children will compete for prized in three age categories: 5 and under, 6 to 10 and 11 to 15. Prizes will be awarded for the biggest fish caught and the most pounds weighed in within a five fish limit in each age group.

All fishing must be completed by 11 a.m. for participants to be eligible for prizes.
