Millersville man charged in Oran woman’s death

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — A Millersville, Missouri, man has been charged with a felony in connection to the March crash that resulted in a Scott County, Missouri, woman’s death.

Harvey A. Jacobs, 38, of Millersville is charged with felony driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of another, not a passenger, occurring on March 24, according to online court records.

Jacobs was arrested at 9:08 a.m. Wednesday in Cape Girardeau County on a warrant for driving while intoxicated-death of another, and also for driving while revoked, no seat belt, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s arrest report.

Jacobs’ arrest was in connection to the March 24 death of Terri A. Gramlisch, 48, of Oran, Missouri,

who was killed in a three-vehicle crash near Dutchtown, Missouri.

According to the Patrol, the crash occurred at 9:51 p.m. on Highway AB as the eastbound vehicle driven by Jacobs struck the westbound vehicle operated by a 16-year-old from Advance, Missouri, traveling in the opposite lane. Jacobs’ vehicle crossed the center of the road and struck the westbound vehicle driven by Gramlisch.

Gramlisch was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:51 p.m. by Cape Girardeau County Coroner Wavis Jordan and taken to the Cape County Morgue.

Jacobs received serious injuries and was flown to a St. Louis hospital.

Bond for Jacobs was set at $15,000, and is being held at the Cape Girardeau County Jail. He was scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Cape Girardeau County Court in Jackson, Missouri.
