Doris Pemberton

BERTRAND, Mo. — Doris Elaine Pemberton, age 77, of Bertrand passed away May 17, 2022, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was born March 25, 1945, in Cairo, Illinois, daughter of the late James Edwards and Eula Mae Brown Edwards.

Doris was a member of Bertrand First Baptist Church where she had worked in the nursery. She loved gardening, arts and crafts and sewing.

On Dec. 8, 1963, she was married to David Lee Pemberton Sr.; he preceded her in death May 13, 2019.

She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Ann (Trent) Fields of Georgia; two sons, David Lee (Mary) Pemberton Jr. of Sikeston and Paul Elzie Pemberton of Bertrand; one brother, Jim Edwards of Carbondale, Illinois; one sister, Sue Welch of St. Louis, Missouri; and two grandchildren, Trace Pemberton and Trent Fields Jr.

In addition to her husband and parents, Doris was preceded in death by one grandchild, Jeremiah Tyler Fields.

Interment will be at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.

Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie, Missouri, is in charge of arrangements.
