SIKESTON — Mable Lipscomb Cook, 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Delta South Nursing Facility in Sikeston. SIKESTON — Mable Lipscomb Cook, 98, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at the Delta South Nursing Facility in Sikeston.

She was born July 4, 1923, in Indianola, Mississippi, to the late Willie and Elnora Byas Lipscomb. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Cook, and two grandchildren, Estelle Cook and Demetrius Flowers.

Mable Cook is survived by her daughter, Rev. Sharl Flowers-Smith of Sikeston; seven grandchildren, Leroy (Lucretia) Flowers of Atlanta, Georgia, Donald Flowers of St. Paul, Minnesota, Sheila (Kenneth) Wilson of Ft. Worth, Texas, Rhonda Council (Terry Robinson) of Sikeston and Sharl (Erica) Flowers of Austin, Texas; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2022, at Bethel A.M.E. Church, 300 Westgate St., Sikeston.

Services are scheduled for noon Saturday, May 28, 2022, at the church with Rev. Dr. K.E. Wilson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Sand Hill Cemetery in New Madrid, Missouri.

Driver Funeral Service of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements and services.
