PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. - Two people were injured in a single-vehicle accident Wednesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 12:03 p.m. Wednesday at the 36 mile marker on Interstate 55, a northbound pickup truck driven by Cristian H. Salazar, 27, of Las Vegas, Nev., ran off the roadway into the median.

Reportedly one of the vehicle’s tires had a blowout causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle flipped over before coming to rest on its wheels.

Members of the Portageville Rescue Squad responded to the scene with two vehicles.

Two of the five occupants in the vehicle were treated for injuries. Alexander Garcia, 22, of Immokalee, Fla., had minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Missouri Delta Medical Center. Seriously injured in the accident was Daniel R. Lopez, 44, of Immokalee., who was taken by air ambulance to a medical center in Memphis, Tenn.
