Services to be reduced at Animal Health Center in Charleston

CHARLESTON, Mo. — Services have been reduced over the summer months at a Charleston veterinary clinic following the relocation of its longtime veterinarian.

According to Dr. Steve Williams, owner of Animal Health Centers in Charleston, Sikeston and Dexter and Delta Veterinary Clinic in Sikeston, veterinarian, Dr. Amber Swain, who has served the area since 2007, is relocating this month.

Williams said this leaves the Charleston clinic without a veterinarian, and services will be reduced during the summer months as they “actively search for another doctor.”

As of Tuesday, Animal Health Center in Charleston is open for day care, boarding, bathing (no grooming services), pet food and product purchases. Veterinary care will not be offered at the Charleston location but it will be at the other locations, according to Williams. Emergency service for clients is also available and a fee with apply, he said.

“I want our clients to understand that we are doing our best to provide our clients with the best care possible by focused and healthy team,” Williams said. “We appreciate your patience and extension of grace as we navigate those changes.
