Ribbon cutting celebrates opening of Da Five O Foe

NEW MADRID, Mo. - It was a duel celebration for Linnette McCoy and Mary Walker in June.

Together the two marked the 10-year-anniversary of their barber shop, Ideal Image, and the grand opening of their newest venture, Da Five O Foe, a bar and grill. The businesses are located next to each other in the Villa Shopping Center.

McCoy explained the new business’s name comes from the Zip Code for New Orleans, her former hometown.

“We are trying to bring some of that culture up here,” McCoy said. “ A taste of New Orleans.”

Since opening Da Five O Foe in January, the owners have worked steadily to expand their operation. In addition to having a full bar, the business now has a menu that includes crawfish pies, chicken wings, fried fish, fried buffalo ribs and egg rolls. Customers can eat in or carry-out is available.

The owners said they want to continue expanding. They would like to add to the menu, extend the hours and even bring in live music.

“The business has been well received,” McCoy said. “One of the reasons we did this was our customers were saying they didn’t have a place here. So we wanted to bring it here to New Madrid so we can have a place where we can have a good time and not worry about having to drive out of town. We want this to be for the people.”

Da Five O Foe is located at 27 Villa Shopping Center. Hours of operation are 8 p.m. to midnight on Thursday and from 8 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
