All R-6 students to receive free breakfasts, lunches in new year

SIKESTON — For the fourth consecutive year, all students of the Sikeston R-6 School District will be able to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost to them.

During a special session on June 28, the Sikeston R-6 Board of Education approved the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) program to continue in the 2022-2023 school year.

Through CEP, every students’ breakfasts and lunches of the school year are provided at no cost to their families. In return, the district is reimbursed, and to be able to sustain the program, students must be eating the school meals to participate in the program.
