Janie Stephens

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Janie Marie Stephens, age 63, passed away on Sept. 21, 2022, at Effie Care Home in East Prairie.

She was born on Jan. 22, 1959 in Bernie, Missouri, to the late James Henry and Sara Elizabeth Boyt Stephens.

She is survived by three brothers, Voundis W. (Mary) Stephens of Wyatt, Missouri, James (Patricia) Stephens of Bethalto, Illinois, and Phillip (Hatsumi) Stephens of Roxana, Illinois, along with all of her friends at Shurtz Group Home, Fellowship Baptist Church and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Deloma Barber and Mary Sue Stevens.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston, Missouri, from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. with Joe McCullough, Pastor of Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas.
