Sikeston Mayor Greg Turnbow signs a proclamation with Maude Harris, organizer of the 17th Annual Multi-County Women’s Health Conference Day. The proclamation recognizes Nov. 4, 2022, as the 17th Annual Multi-County Women’s Health Conference Day with this year’s theme being, “Empower Yourself to Serve Others.” The purpose of the conference is to facilitate public awareness of the organizations and services involved and concerned with women’s health serving Scott, Stoddard, Mississippi, New Madrid and the surrounding counties. The goals of the Multi-County Women’s Health Conference are to provide health and educational information to participants and the conference will, among other things — promote and educate participants on health and disease prevention. It will also describe the latest physical and mental health findings related to risk factors associated with obesity, cancer, diabetes, mental health and other health issues.
