Parson announces appointment of Mississippi County public administrator

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — A Charleston, Missouri, woman was appointed by Gov. Mike Parson to the office of Mississippi County Public Administrator.

Melissa Davis of Charleston was appointed as the Mississippi County Public Administrator, Parson’s office announced Friday Davis has served as a social worker for Charleston Manor since 2014 and has served as the facility's acting administrator since 2021. She has nearly 18 years experience as a social worker in long term care facilities. Davis assumed the position after Julie Summers-Day resigned in August.

Parson also announced on Friday appointments to two other county office vacancies as well as appointed members to the Health and Educational Facilities Authority of the State of Missouri and the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners.

Appointed were Robert Dobsch of Washington to the Health and Educational Facilities Authority of the State of Missouri; Beverly Finch of Patterson as the Wayne County Assessor; Timothy Kean of Rolla as the Phelps County Assessor; and Ralph Munyan II of Kansas City to the Kansas City Board of Election Commissioners.
