Have you ever held a newborn baby in your arms? I have. The late term abortion law that the Democrats advocate allow a baby to be aborted up to the day it is born. Think about that.

What is going on

What is going on in our city? Does Sikeston not have city ordinances they are required to follow when allowing new businesses occupancy permits? First, we have an adult entertainment and novelty store across the street, literally corner to corner, of residential housing and within walking distance of a city park. Now I am seeing a new bar opening in Sikeston right next to a church. Am I the only person seeing what is happening here? The Good Ole Boy System in Sikeston is alive and well. Rules for thee but not for me.

The businesses are in correctly zoned areas.

Smokey Sunday

This is Sunday, Oct. 9. I wanted to go for a walk about 4 p.m. It’s 72 degrees outside but I can’t because of all of the smoke from all of the corn fields being burned. I thought there was a no burn order.

Missouri allows farmers to burn fields during burn bans.

Spit it out, then call

This message is for whoever complained about farmers burning their fields. They are exempt from the burn ban and I hope you were not eating your dinner with your mouth full when you called in.

It’s not fair

This is about trash pickup here in Sikeston. Us with pickups on Monday and Thursday have our trash picked up seven times less a year than those with Tuesday and Friday pick up but are charged the same price. Common sense tells you this is wrong. No matter what double talk anyone says you can’t say this is fair.
