The demolition of Matthews Elementary located at 604 Elm Street in Sikeston is underway. Jeff Hall Excavating LLC of Charleston, Missouri, was awarded the bid in June to complete the demolition of the Sikeston R-6 building, and the project will be finished by Dec. 1, according to district officials.
