Mary Dean Jackson
EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. — Mary Dean Jackson, age 84, of East Prairie passed away Friday, Oct. 21, 2022, at her home.
She was born April 10, 1938, in Marks, Mississippi, to the late Alvis Ferguson and Florence Matthews Ferguson. She was employed at East Prairie Garment Factory many years ago, as well as Brown Shoe Factory in Charleston, Missouri, until the time of its closing. Mary loved her grandkids and great grandkids dearly. She always took pride in her yard and flowers. She also loved her chickens.
On June 8, 1955, she married Jesse Jackson, who survives of the home.
In addition to her husband, Mary is survived by her children, Betty (Jimmy) Heath, Melissa (Steve) Hutcheson-Seeber, Janet (Dewayne) Jackson, Jesse (Connie) Jackson and Tim (Kathleen) Jackson; siblings, Betty Essary, Pat Henry, William (Kay) Ferguson, Ruth (Richard) Layer, Brenda (Gilbert) Rundles and Linda (Marty) Vied; grandchildren, Brandon (Lori) Heath, Blake (Sakinah) Heath, David (Melanie) Heath, Hunter Jackson, Jessica (John) Harvell, Kristin (Cole) Byassee, Amanda Jackson, Kyle (Ashley) Jackson and Jeremy (Crystal) Jackson; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Jane Byrd, Arthur Ferguson and James Ferguson.
Family and friends will assemble for graveside services on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Dogwood Cemetery with interment to immediately follow.
Services are under the direction of Shelby Funeral Home of East Prairie.
