Inflation impacting everyone

COVID affected billions of people all over the world. Governments spent trillions for COVID research, vaccine design, and testing, as well as hospitalization for hundreds of millions of COVID patients. This year, it is vaccinations for COVID’s Omicron subvariant. The COVID Pandemic affected the world-wide economy with companies’ closings, supply chain delays creating shortages of essential products, with the result that companies raised prices extensively higher. These are the true causes of the inflation we’re experiencing. Trump and Biden both sent out checks to people (which was just a bandaid). I just don’t understand why the Federal Reserve thinks raising the interest rate is the solution to the problems we’ve go right now.

What’s going on with KFVS?

I was wondering, what is happening with KFVS workers? First Nicole Williams, now she’s gone. Lisa Michaels is not there anymore. Not to mention there’s several more that are not there anymore. Are they shutting down or something? Just want to know.

Chart is unreadable

The drought chart that you have on the top of the page Saturday/Sunday, Oct. 15/16, 2022, the wording on the drought for the colors is unreadable. It’s too small and it’s blurred. Editor, shouldn’t you make sure you put out a quality product?

While we strive to always put out a top quality product, we no longer print the paper at the Standard Democrat so some things are out of our control. The same photos can always be viewed on our online edition.

Burying the earth in trash

Recycling will cost you $8 per pickup on the first Wednesday of the month. Contaminated items include glass, dirty aluminum foil, unclean plastic containers or cans, styrofoam and plastic grocery bags. If the load is contaminated by just one item, the whole truck load is put in the trash. You’re putting a lot of faith in your “fellow man.” Not worth the risk — Let’s just bury the earth in trash.
