“A Christmas Carol” is one of the most timeless Christmas tales and the Sikeston Little Theatre will be performing the classic, beginning Thursday night.

SIKESTON — “A Christmas Carol” is one of the most timeless Christmas tales and the Sikeston Little Theatre will be performing the classic, beginning Thursday night.

“A Christmas Carol” recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man.

The musical will feature a cast from grades three through adult, with most of the roles going to adults.

Cody Smither is directing the play with Dennis Bohannon serving as the assistant director. Mary Ferguson is the producer, Ed Cowan in charge of orchestration with Judy Henry and Erin Tanner serving as the music directors. Kate Davis is the choreographer.

Ebenezer Scrooge is played by Hunter Coomes, Bob Cratchit is played by Jeremiah Dunmyer and Mrs. Cratchit/narrator is played by Katie Roach.

The performances will be Nov. 17 at 7 p.m.; Nov. 18 at 7 p.m., Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., Nov. 20 at 2 p.m.; Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.; Dec. 2 at 7 p.m.; Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 4 at 2 p.m.
