SIKESTON — Judy Dean Stokes, age 77, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born on Nov. 16, 1945, in Anniston, Missouri, to the late William “Bill” and Wanda Pemberton Brooks.

SIKESTON — Judy Dean Stokes, age 77, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.

She was born on Nov. 16, 1945, in Anniston, Missouri, to the late William “Bill” and Wanda Pemberton Brooks.

On Nov. 23, 1988, in Sikeston, she married William “Bill” Stokes survives of the home.

Judy was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston for 32 years before retiring in 2013.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Richard McEntire of Matthews, Missouri; two daughters, Jessica Stokes and Tara Hodge of Sikeston; one brother, Billie (Susan) Salyer of Sikeston; her stepfather, Bill Salyer and one granddaughter, Kelsey Hodge.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Brooks; and one sister, Barbara Nolan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022, from 4 p.m. until time of the memorial service at 6 p.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston with Jennifer Moxley, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Sikeston, officiating.

Inurnment will be on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
