SIKESTON — Eleanor Mae Boyd, 91, of Sikeston passed away Thursday, Dec. 1, 2022, at Delta South Nursing Facility in Sikeston.

She was born in Herrin, Illinois, on Feb. 20, 1931, daughter of Andrew and Edna Fairbanks Jackson. She and Donald Short were married, and he preceded her in death in 1972. Eleanor later married Dewey Boyd in 1995.

Eleanor graduated from Johnston City high School in Johnston City, Illinois. She was a bookkeeper

for various businesses over the years and was of the Baptist faith.

Loving survivors include: her husband, Dewey; a daughter, Sandra (Steve) Moore; her oldest grandson, Clayton (Sarah) Carbaugh and daughters, Sophie and Stella; her youngest grandson, Jason (Nicole) Carbaugh, and children, Shelby and Tyler.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Short; her parents, Andrew and Edna Jackson; siblings, Myrtle Potts, Marie Smiley, Cecil Jackson, Harry Jackson, Wayne Jackson and Imogene Foli.

Eleanor’s family would like to give a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and technicians at Delta South who provided such diligent and kind care to her.

Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, from 10 a.m. until service time at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, Missouri.

Funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 5. 2022, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Dr. Mark Carbaugh officiating.

Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson, Missouri.
