A Sikeston, Missouri, man wanted for his alleged involvement in a shooting that injured one Thursday near Benton, Missouri, is in custody.
Bryce Jordan Johnson, 23, of Sikeston is charged with felony first degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to online court records.
Johnson was located Friday afternoon at a home on a county road and taken into custody, Scott County Sheriff Wes Drury said.
Drury said the charges stem from a shooting incident Thursday, Jan. 12 that took place outside of Benton. The incident left one victim hospitalized, he said.
Johnson initially fled the scene of the incident in a black Jeep Patriot. He was with a female who later made contact with the sheriff.
Johnson also has active warrants for his arrest for unrelated charges, and a warrant was issued for the Thursday charges, Drury said. Johnson was considered armed and dangerous, the sheriff said.
There is no bond set as of late Friday.
