Can’t keep my mouth shut anymore

I am over 80 years old and what I am seeing in the police departments, they are totally out of control. We need to get rid of the immunity of prosecution for these cops. If they violate our rights, they need to be accountable for their actions. We the people have to pay for the suing; they pay nothing. Back in Germany, there was the same thing. It was called tyranny. In 1934 and 1935, when Hitler was trying to make Germany great again, this is how they were doing it. If we get rid of the immunity of prosecution, this will help heal the difference between the public and law enforcement. I hope you print this. I’ve been putting off saying this for so long, but I just can’t keep my mouth shut anymore. I guess being over 80, you tend to just let go. Thank you.

Concerned about Sikeston streets

Yes, I’m very concerned about the roads in the City of Sikeston, especially downtown. You would think the City of Sikeston could spend some more money, especially on North Kingshighway and Tanner Street and especially where the brick is paved downtown. I think it’s time to get rid of that. It’s tearing your cars up. Thank you.

The Sikeston City Council recently approved the 2023 street and drainage improvement plan, which it said is one of the most aggressive plans the city has seen. The Standard Democrat ran an article on the plan in its Jan. 15 edition. The City of Sikeston has also released information on the plan at sikeston.org.
