Shapley Williams

SIKESTON — “Blackie” Shapley Wilford Williams, age 85, passed away on Feb. 20, 2023, at DePaul Hospital in Bridgeton, Missouri.

He was born on April 7, 1937, in New Madrid, Missouri, to the late Shapley and Beatrice Metheny Williams.

On April 11, 1960, in Elma, Washington, he married Charlotte Alexander Williams who survives of the home in Florissant, Missouri.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Chuck (Janice) Williams of Sikeston and Jessie (Phyllis) Williams of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Charlotte Ann “Missy” Palafox of Georgia and friend, Carlos Palafox of Georgia; one brother, Tommy (Terri) Williams of Sikeston; one sister, Pat (Al) Moore of Sikeston; two grandchildren, Jacob Williams and Chloe Williams; and one great-grandson, Jack Williams.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three brothers, Eddie Williams, Willie Williams and Keith Williams.

A graveside memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 2 p.m. at Dogwood Cemetery in Dogwood, Missouri.
